Originally from Charleston, Ill., Spoo attended Eastern Illinois University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences in 2004. She was awarded her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2009 from the University of Illinois and began her career practicing at Bellwood Animal Hospital in Rockford, Ill. During her tenure at Bellwood, she further developed her professional interests in ultrasound; dentistry; reptile and small mammal husbandry; medicine and surgery before transferring to Southridge Animal Hospital in Denton, Texas in 2019. Katie is excited to join the team at The Camden Hospital for Animals and expand the offering of medical care to exotic pets in Midcoast Maine!
